Braidwood Airing of the Quilts
Dalmeny Quilter's each year take a bus load of wonderful ladies up the mountain to Braidwood to catch the Airing of the Quilts. This year saw 30 ladies and myself take in the chatty bus trip. Braidwood hold their local markets on the same day. Double bonus!!
We arrived just after 10am and set off to wander around the markets and take in the sights. Sorry no photos, even though I had the camera I was too busy looking! The patchwork shops from surrounding areas such as Goulburn and Canberra had some stalls, so of course they got a thrashing.
Next we headed down the street to see the quilts on display from the balconies but as it was so windy quite a few were caught in windows and being blown around. A kind lady held still This one for me .
Such cute kids quilts.
Then on to the batik fabrics for a squiz. They only had fat quarters on the day but we were invited to their home studio for a look. Will have to book in a road trip with the girls I'm thinking.
We fought (waited) with about 200 other ladies in the bakery for morning tea and then headed off to the exhibition. I have to admit the lighting was atrocious. I have had to lighten the following photos quite a bit from the original as even with the flash, it was hard to get an accurate depiction. Thankyou to the lady who gave us a free admission ticket, she thought it wasn't worth the five dollar entry fee!
We all had to be back on the bus by 3pm. On the way home lollies were consumed, lucky bus prizes were won and some q's and a's rewarded! Overall a great day with some fabric finding it's way into my newly acquired thai silk shoulderbag. Now how did that happen??? hehehe.

Look what has arrived!!!
Yes the postie, Albie, popped into the shop on Friday and delivered a couple of parcels for me. He is so kind. Pops them into the shop rather than have them sit on my lonely doorstep for me to get home. Anyhow, my stitcher's angel gifts arrived!! I'm speechless....they are just gorgeous..see!
Aren't they just beautiful and such perfect stitches.Thank you Susana. They came all the way from Spain! This is the best swap to be in...you get to meet people from all over the world and receive such divine pressies! Thanks soo much Susana...can you tell I really love them. You have such a great hand at stitching and the fabrics you used are just perfect. Will definitely be in this one again!!

Some pictures!!
This last week I have managed to learn how to upload pics more efficiently and quickly. Yay!! Anyhow these photos are a couple of projects I'm working on at the moment. The first photo is a finished top that will be a wall hanging for my house. I don't get to make a lot for the house as owning a shop I am usually always making samples. This is a design that was in one of the Australian craft magazines. Can't remember which one but gorgeous all the same.
And the next photo is a couple of projects I'm doing as some swaps. By looking at the right hand side of my blog you will notice I am a stitching angel. Well I think that the new pattern from Leanne Beasley(don't you just love her work!!) will be one of the projects I will send.
And the other is a block of the month by Leanne Beasley ( can you tell I love her designs!!)called A Quilter's Journey. I'm really loving this project. This is Block 7, only two more to go! And if that isn't enough, I've been baking...
Well, hopefully that will have given you an insight into my busy life. I'm off now to devour one of those muffins on my back deck in this gorgeous weather we are having. Catch you later!

A giveaway link
Sue Daley is having a great giveaway over on her blog but you need to be quick it finishes tonite!
Have been doing a little work on my BOM's here a a few pics of Gail Pan's.
And I have finished block three of Quilter's Journey by Leanne Beasley. However I've left it at the shop will have photos later in the week.
This weekend has been a busy one. I hold a stitch-in at the shop on the last Saturday of every month. We usually start about five and grab a takeaway tea usually Chinese but decided to actually cook this month. So yesterday was spent making moussaka and chicken wings in the oven a couple of different ways. Along with the normal salad, it was a hit as there were not many leftovers. The night is loads of fun with a couple of glasses of wine we have a good laugh at ourselves and each other. Each month I look forward to these nights as I get a chance to sit down with the girls and find out what each is up to. We then hold a retreat at the end of the year and that's a ball of fun. A very tiring weekend with not much sleep and a bit of alcohol and loads of stitching. Our motto is 'what goes on at camp stays at camp'. This year we are having a frock night (we have to buy a frock at Vinnies) and see who has the most outrageous outfit, as well as karaoke, it's bound to be a laugh. May just have to take the camera this year!!!
Hope your weekend has been just as enjoyable. Catch up soon.
